Giving Thanks to All

December 17, 2013
By Lauren MacDonald-Schlaht

Thank YouWhile Kin Canada clubs perform countless service projects and fundraisers each year, there’s a lot of additional coverage about them around this time because of the holiday-centered projects and events.

In the past week, I’ve heard about several parades (many of which collect donations for the food bank), hamper programs (that serve hundreds of families!), two Operation Red Nose launches, and donations to libraries, hospitals and park projects. The list seems never-ending, with the generosity of not only the clubs but the members of their communities that come together and help make these projects a success.

No matter what you celebrate, December is typically a time of giving, but also of giving thanks to those who give so freely of their time, skills and money. This holiday season, I’d like to thank everyone who has contributed to making their community a better place. Whether you donate $1 or $1,000, contribute 1 hour or 100, the gift of giving back to your community is priceless.

Thank you!
