James Doerr, National President

  • Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba
  • Currently resides in Thunder Bay, Ontario
  • Has been an active member of the Thunder Bay Hill City Kinsmen since 1992
  • Served as Club President in 1995-96 and 2005-06
  • Winner of the Maple Leaf Award
  • Outstanding Maple Leaf Award
  • Ritchie Senior National Bulletin Award
  • District 2 Keith Large Outstanding Kinsmen Deputy Governor Award 2007-08
  • Became a Life Member in June 2014
  • Has served in most capacities within the club and has held numberous positions at the zone, district and national level
  • Owns and operates Sign Design Inc.
  • Is committed and active in other organizations and roles within the Thunder Bay community

Terri MacCannell, National Vice-President

  • Joined Kin in 1991 with the Spirit River Kinettes
  • Served in all capacities within the club
  • District 4 Governor - Winner of the Decew Phee Outstanding District Award 2009-10
  • Life Member since 2006
  • Kinette of the year (twice)
  • Current member of the Stampede City Kinettes
  • Married to Rob (Governor and Stampede City Kinsmen)
  • Daughter Daelyn (Stampede City Kinette), son-in-law Shaun, daughter Morgan and stepson Christopher
  • Works for Cenovus Energy, Sr. Advisor Document Management

Kim Peters, National Past-President

  • Joined Kin in 1999 with the Leduc Kinettes
  • Chartered the Kinette Club of Lethbridge 2002
  • Earned the Maple Leaf Award of Distinction, Founders Award, several GEM's and District and National Outstanding Deputy Governor Award
  • Co-chair for National Convention in Lethbridge 2008-2009
  • District Governor with my husband Gord 2008-2009
  • National Board of Directors 2010-2012
  • National Secretary 2011-2012
  • Honoured to be a Life Member
  • Married to Life Member Gord Peters (Lethbridge Kinsmen).
  • Kim & Gord own and operate a promotional product and embroidery business called EmbroidMe
  • Kim is also working in the field of hi-tech precision agriculture as the Operations Manager for Farmers Edge in Southern Alberta

 

Dan Bradford, National Director

  • Joined the Kinsmen Club of the Miramichi
  • Served as President, Vice President and Director
  • Also served as Deputy Governor, Vice Governor and Governor
  • Sat on the National membership committee
  • Maple leaf Award, GEM Award and Kin initiative award at club level
  • Sits on various boards in the community
  • Works as a Correctional officer at Atlantic Maximum Security prison

JM LeMoeligou, National Director

  • Kinsmen Club of Cornwall member since 1995
  • Served in all capacities within the club
  • Served at Zone and District levels: Deputy Governor, Governor, District Membership and Service Director
  • Married to Life Member and PNP Mélodie LeMoeligou and has two daughters, Dominic and Marie-France, and two grandchildren, Arya and Titus
  • Retired from 37-year career in the post-secondary education system
  • Serves on the Board of Directors of the Cornwall Kinsmen Community Residence

Brenda Dineen, National Director

  • Joined the Association as a Founding Member of the Palmerston & District Kinettes in May 1985
  • Has held all executive positions at the club level including President 7 times
  • Has held many Zone-level positions, including Kinette Coordinator (1988-89), Deputy Governor (2001-02, 2007-08 and 2008-09), Zone Cystic Fibrosis/ Service Representative (1988-89 and 2001-02)
  • District 1 Service Director (1997-98, 2006-07 and 2010-11)
  • Kin-Cystic Fibrosis Liaison Chair, had the opportunity to visit each district across the Association either at an FLC or Spring Convention (2011-13 term). Gave insight into the uniqueness of the Association as everyone works together for many causes but with the same commitment.
  • Attended numerous Zone, District, and National Conventions, as well as Cystic Fibrosis Canada AGM's. Continue to value the friendships made at every one of these events.
  • “I expect that my term on our National Board will give me better sense of the whole and add to the memories of my Kin family.”

Guy Smith, National Director

  • Retired from Alberta Infrastructure in October 2015 after a 30-year career. Most recent position held was Executive Director of the Procurement Branch
  • Joined the Kinsmen Club of Fort Edmonton in November 1982 and became a Life Member in 2002. Guy has served in most position at the club level, Deputy Governor, District Coordinator, Kinsmen Vice-Governor, Kinsmen Governor and Associate Director. Awards won include National Bulletin Award Winner,  (District Bulletin Award Winner), Master Kin (now Founder’s) Award, District Kinsmen Public Speaking Champion (twice) and DeCew Shield (Outstanding Kinsmen Governor)
  • Currently completing a Doctorate in Business Administration at University of Phoenix – dissertation title “Collaborative Leadership in Carbon Sequestration: A Multiple-Case Study”; projected date of dissertation defence November 2016
  • Served on the Board of Directors of Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, including a term as National President
  • Served on the Board of Directors of Boys and Girls Clubs of Edmonton, including a term as President
  • Involved in fundraising and leadership training for United Way of Alberta Capital Region for over 20 years
  • Currently involved in fundraising and volunteer work for Boys and Girls Clubs/Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and iHuman Youth Society

Lesley Hanishewsky, National Director

  • Joined the Kinette Club of Yorkton when re-chartered in 2007
  • Served all roles in club except Secretary
  • Distrist Co-ordinator 2007-2008
  • Service Director 2008-2009
  • Telemiracle Foundation Board Rep 2010-2013
  • Married to PNP Ron Hanishewsky (Kinsmen Club of Yorkton) with 3 children - Marley, Kaeden and Alexandria
  • Works at Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) as a Personal Injury Rep

Tom Therien, National Director

  • Joined the Kinsmen Club of Flin Flon in 1992, served in all capcities except for Vice President
  • Deputy Governor (4 times), District Finance Chair (twice), HREF Trustee (Vice Chair 2012/13, Chair 2013/14)
  • Life Member
  • Kinsmen of the Year
  • General Manager, North of 53 Consumers Cooperative Limited
  • Married to Diane (Flin Flon Kinette & Life Member), daughter Tauvia (Flin Flon Kinette), son-in-law Mike (Flin Flon Kinsmen), granchildern Zach, Blake & Talissa

Andy Leitch, National Director

  • Joined the Kinsmen Club of Powell River in 1977
  • Joined the Kinsmen Club of Campbell River in 2006
  • Served as club Service Director and Treasurer
  • Served on a number of not for profit boards
  • Past chairman of the Campbell River Chamber of Commerce and Campbell River Hospice Society
  • Investment and Insurance Advisor for Mackie Research Capital Corporation
  • Married to Noreen with two children: Susan, MPO with the Canadian Navy and Jeffrey, Electrician with Houle Electric and Rookie of the Year for 2013-14

Erin Thomson, National Director

  • Kin Kid from an extended Kin Family in Northern Ontario
  • Joined Kinette Club of Timmins 2001
  • Proudly served as Club Secretary, Club Vice-President, Club CF & Service Director, Club Membership Director
  • Maple Leaf Award of Distinction, GEM Award
  • Zone CF & Service Rep 2006-2007
