Cystic Fibrosis Canada Awards

Bill Skelly Award

The Bill Skelly Award recognizes outstanding Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin clubs across Canada. Clubs are awarded for their efforts in raising funds and public awareness in the fight against cystic fibrosis. One award is presented per district, per year. The winners are announced at National Convention and presented with the Bill Skelly Banner.

Bill Skelly is the Kinsman credited with launching the Kin-CF partnership. In 1963, Mr. Skelly invited Dr. Doug Crozier to speak to the North York Kinsmen Club about cystic fibrosis. The following year, District 8 adopted CF as its service project, and, over the course of the next four decades, the Kin-CF connection developed into a vibrant and unique partnership. Ian F. McClure Award

The Ian F. McClure award was introduced in 2014 to celebrate the 50th year anniversary of the partnership between Kin Canada and Cystic Fibrosis Canada. It is awarded to a Kinsmen or Kinette in recognition of their exceptional skills coordinating and motivating groups of donors and volunteers for fundraising projects for the benefit of Cystic Fibrosis Canada and Canadians living with cystic fibrosis. There is only one award given out nationally per year.
