Kin Canada established the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund (HREF) in memory of Hal Rogers, Kin Canada's founder, who passed away in 1994.
The Fund's purpose is to promote, encourage and sponsor educational programs and activities. Founder Hal was named the first recipient of the coveted Lamp of Learning Award in 1950 by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation. The Lamp of Learning is awarded annually to a non-teacher who has contributed to the furtherance of education in the Province of Ontario.
Kin Canada Bursaries, a program of the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund, provides financial help for those seeking a post-secondary education.
72 students from across Canada were recipients of a $1,000 bursary for the 2015-16 school year. Read the recipient list here.
