Kin Canada's Impact

Kinsmen and Kinettes respond to diversity and challenges with zest and enthusiasm. The Kin attitude is one that exemplifies a hands-on approach to service work. Not content to simply write cheques, if there’s work to be done -- Kin clubs do it!

More than $1 billion raised
Kin members have proudly contributed more than $1 billion to Canadian communities since our Association was founded in 1920.

Giving back millions
Every year clubs contribute about $15 million to improve Canadian communities by building parks, sponsoring sports teams, awarding student bursaries and helping individuals and  families in need. In 2009-2010, our members raised more than $15 million and they spent countless hours organizing and executing hundreds of fundraisers and service projects in their communities.

Kin Canada Bursaries
Kin Canada Bursaries is the second largest non-corporate provider of bursaries in Canada. Over $730,000 in bursaries has been awarded since 1994 to assist deserving students in their pursuit of a post-secondary education.

Cystic Fibrosis: National Charity
Since 1964, Kinsmen and Kinettes have proudly supported the work of Cystic Fibrosis Canada since 1964. On average, we’ve raised$1 million annually for CF.  Our total contributions are nearing $40 million, making Kin Canada the largest single fundraising organization of CF research and care in Canada.

Portraits of Honour Tour National Project
Cambridge (Preston) Kinsman and artist Dave Sopha painted a profound 10’ x 50’ mural depicting the 157 Canadian military personnel who lost their lives serving in Afghanistan. The coast-to-coast tour hopes to raise $1.5 million for the Military Families Fund and the Canadian forces personnel returning home with physical or emotional injuries. TeleMiracle
For 34 years Kinsmen, Kinettes and volunteers in Saskatchewan have raised money for people in their communities. In 2011, $4,635,768 was raised to assist Saskatchewan people who require special-needs equipment and access to medical assistance. Read more about the Telemiracle event.

Disaster Relief
Kinsmen and Kinettes are also there to help during times of crises in both Canada and beyond our borders. Learn more about our disaster relief fund.
