Types of Membership

Active Members are men and women at least 19 years of age who are of good character and community standing. Active members in good standing are eligible to attend meetings, hold office, participate in all levels of the awards program, serve on committees and vote on club, zone, district and national issues.

Life Members: A Life Membership is the highest honour the Association bestows on a member who has given at least 10 years of service to the Association and his/her club. An Active Life Member enjoys the same privileges as Active Members.

Honourary Members are members of the community who are nominated, voted for and honoured by a club for their support of Kin Canada. These members are not entitled to any of the privileges of Active Members.

Associate Members are members of the National Association. Associate Members don’t necessarily have the time to attend meetings and/or participate in projects, but they offer financial support to a local club by paying yearly dues.

An Associate Member is entitled to participate in all meetings but cannot vote at the District or National level. Voting rights at the club level are determined by each club.

Associate Members receive a member pin and a dinner badge with the club name, their name and 'Associate Member.' Membership plaques are available for Associate Members to display in their place of business.
