Did you leverage this project as a way to recruit new members? Yes
If you answered yes to the question above, please explain: This drive provides our club with a significant volume of media attention over TV, radio, newspaper, internet, special events and more. This helps to not only drive awareness of this need but also help to inform prospective future members about what we do. This is how I was attracted to the club and joined.
How was this project promoted in your community? TV interviews, half page newspaper advertisements each week, website takeovers, 30+ radio advertisements, 7 radio interviews, Posters, Facebook, Kinsmen website linked to sponsor websites. Numerous additional community marketing support.
What were some challenges you faced with this project, and how could your project be improved? We are a small club and this project takes about 300 people hrs between Oct - end of year.
What was the approximate budget for this project? $10,000-$15,000
If the project was a fundraiser, what were the sources of revenue for this project? Community monitary donations - home and business ranging from $9000 - $12000. Collecting 1300 snowsuits each year from the community could be equated to approximately $52,000 ($40 per unit *1300)
If this was a fundraiser, how much money was raised (minus expenses)? Not Applicable
What were the expenses for this project? Media costs, dry cleaning services, printing, mailings, and misc. other changes. The Donations usually offset the costs to run this project. We also maintain a surplus of money to cover one years worth of operating costs.
Is there anything else you would like to share that would assist another club in duplicating this project in their community?
