Description of project Tables are sold to home party vendors, local businesses aimed at women, services beneficial to women and community support services. Venue is open for 4 hours and the public attends at no charge to view what is offered. We have a local Bridal shop in conjunction with a ladies wear boutique, that do mini fashion shows every 1/2 hour for the attendees. Club puts in a bake table which is huge success. We also request donations from the participants to a raffle table and sell tickets for those items to raise funds.40
Service Hours 1-20
Did you leverage this project as a way to recruit new members? Yes
If you answered yes to the question above, please explain: We set up a recruitment table displaying our PR books, Cystic Fibrosis submissions, and have a vertical display of photos and memories from our club initiatives. We hand out pamphlets as well, to all attendees within a reusable bag that they can fill while they make their way around the event. We successfully gained 2 new members from this project thus far.
How was this project promoted in your community? We use every available means of free advertising and have compiled an extensive list to date. We also get great covered from our local radio stations on "what's happening" segments, and blast the daylights out of it on social media.
What were some challenges you faced with this project, and how could your project be improved? Vendors backing out last minute make "holes" in the layout so you must juggle spaces around to make it look full. Do NOT let them pay day of, don't confirm their participation until you have cheque and contract in hand.
What was the approximate budget for this project? Less than $1,000
If the project was a fundraiser, what were the sources of revenue for this project? Selling the vendor tables covers all expenses and is the source of income. The hall rental is covered by 5 vendors. We also do our own club bake table and the raffle for fundraising ..
If this was a fundraiser, how much money was raised (minus expenses)? $1,000-$5000
What were the expenses for this project? Legion rental and advertising $470 total

Income / profit last year $1803.37
Is there anything else you would like to share that would assist another club in duplicating this project in their community? This doesn't have to be a Ladies Day .. I suggested to a Kinsmen Club that they have a Men's Day .. perhaps fill a hall with Vendors that have fishing / boating / gardening / tools etc., and other services for men for something geared in that direction.
