Was this project a fundraiser? No
Description of project Once per month members from our club go to "Kin Manor" at Elmwood Residence, to make crafts with the residents who are seniors with cognitive disabilities. The crafts are simple (usually using foam or paper and stickers, or sometimes beading, and once a year gingerbread houses) and they absolutely LOVE having us come over every month! We only go for 1 hour once per month so it's an easy service to provide.

We usually get supplies from the dollar store and then the project leaders will store the extra supplies at their house. The crafts we do tend to be seasonal with that month, and they are always easy crafts. If they finish early they can either make another item or colour which they also love to do.
Service Hours 1-20
Did you leverage this project as a way to recruit new members? No
If you answered yes to the question above, please explain:
How was this project promoted in your community? It's not really promoted on our community. We just do it because we love going there!
What were some challenges you faced with this project, and how could your project be improved? Sometimes getting enough volunteers out is a challenge but we usually do ok!
What was the approximate budget for this project? Less than $1,000
If the project was a fundraiser, what were the sources of revenue for this project?
If this was a fundraiser, how much money was raised (minus expenses)? Not Applicable
What were the expenses for this project? Just buying craft supplies, which we do at the dollar store. If they don't all get used, they will the next year!
Is there anything else you would like to share that would assist another club in duplicating this project in their community? It's a very easy and enjoyable experience and we encourage other clubs to do it!!
