Telemiracle continues to build a legacy

Forty years ago a group of Kinsmen in Saskatchewan sat around a table at some point and came up with the idea of a province-wide telethon. “The Kinsmen Foundation, provides special needs equipment and access to medical assistance to Saskatchewan residents, groups and health foundations to improve quality of life and independence,” details the Foundation’s website.

Cornwall Kinsmen partner with Heart & Stroke

The local office of the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be the charity of choice for the 2015 Kinsmen Cornwall Waterfest event this summer.

The Kinsmen Club of Cornwall has come on board as title sponsor for the festival, to the delight of many, including Heart and Stroke Foundation area manager Cindy Rowe.

New Program to get Kids More Active

Sponsored by the local Kinsmen Club, the Kinsmen Kinder Turf program aims to get parents and their children playing together two times a week.

“We do different activities that help with coordination and balance,” said Therens-Olafson who runs the program.

And while the cold and snowy weather had helped the campaign, Benoit said it’s also highlighted the need to have such a campaign. He said over the past week he’s received some telephone calls from area schools where some students don’t have a snowsuit to wear.
