Port Hope, ON - The Port Hope Kinsmen, organizers of the annual Canada Day Celebrations, are very excited to receive funding to enhance this years’ event, and invite everyone to come out and “Celebrate Canada” Monday June 30th and Tuesday July 1st in historic Port Hope!
$150,000 is coming from the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon to local sports in Saskatoon. The club made the announcement at their home lottery showhome this morning, first up was a cheque for $75,000 to the Friends of the Bowl Foundation, who are raising funds for the ongoing improvements of the Saskatoon Minor Football Field at Gordon Howe Park.
Half a century of generosity and service was marked Friday in typical Kinsmen Club of Stampede City fashion. They cut a cheque — this one for $1.31 million that’ll benefit 11 Calgary charities.
“We were sitting around at our club meeting and trying to think of a way to get our name back out into the community and one thing that came up was Hunger in Moose Jaw,” said Kirk Olson, president of the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Club.
Spring isn't generally considered the "season of giving", but for the Kinsmen group in Kingston it certainly is. After a very successful Dream Home Lottery campaign last year, the Kinsmen decided to donate to a number of community groups.
A big thank-you to the Bible Hill Kinsmen Club for their generous donation of $3500.00 to the Hospice Food from the Heart program.
A community partner's gift has secured the reopening of a pool that means so much to its neighbourhood. The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg has pledged $1 million to assist in the renovation of the 83-year-old Sherbrook Pool, which has been closed since Nov. 29, 2012.
