This year the Botwood Kinsmen carried the banner proudly as the parade moved along, led by the Botwood Fire Truck. Along with the Kinsmen, the Boys and Girls Club and the Point of Bay/Philip’s Head Fire Department joined as first time walkers.

The Antigonish’s Kinsmen Bike, Run and Walk for Breakfast drew about 60 young and old to clamber over the closest thing Antigonish County has to a mountain, known as the Keppoch, on foot and on bicycle. Volunteers barbecued for the event that raised money that the Kinsmen will donate to school breakfast programs.

Ashlie Cormier promised she would dye her hair pink if teammates on the Kinette's Team Sandra were able to reach a certain goal for this weekend's Run for the Cure.

$9,500 was generated through bar crew donations to the Lions Club, Minor Hockey, the Barons Junior C Hockey, the Rotary Club, the Kinsmen Club, the Legion Oldtimers hockey team and the Firemen's Association.

Kinette president Krystal Baier said it was the first toy run she has participated in. She said over 100 motorcycle and classic car owners took part.

Co-chairs Gabe Myers and John Parsons said it's becoming one of the club's signature events, and helps the Kinsmen to support a variety of sports teams, Canada Day fireworks and other activities for youth in the Wallaceburg area.

The Weyburn Kinsmen presented the Wor-Kin Shop with $200,000. This money will be recognized as a permanent legacy of the Kinsmen Foundation in the naming of the Wor-Kin Shop new Day Home building at a grand opening in 2015.
