Kinsmen, Kinettes celebrate club founding

Last month saw our annual celebration of the founding of Kin Canada. Hal Rodgers began our association in February of 1920 and it soon spread across the nation to become this country's largest all-Canadian service organization. New Glasgow's Kinsmen Club was established in 1943 and has flourished ever since.

A community partner's gift has secured the reopening of a pool that means so much to its neighbourhood. The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg has pledged $1 million to assist in the renovation of the 83-year-old Sherbrook Pool, which has been closed since Nov. 29, 2012.

Kinette Club hosts zone conference

The Kinette Club of Pembroke was once again honoured to play host to the annual District 6 Zone Conference over the weekend. Representatives from Kin Clubs stretching from Cornwall to Pembroke gathered at the Kiwanis Field House Saturday to convene the meeting headed up by the district's governor, Robert Watkins, and deputy governor, Judith Dallaway.
