The Kinsmen Club of Parry Sound wins Awards

he club received the Ian McClure award for the highest Kinsmen Club donation, club of the year and largest increase in its annual donation of any club of the central region. Last year, the club raised $31,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, with $17,000 of that from the annual Pub Putt.

Botwood Kinsmen Participate in the Wishmaker Parade

This year the Botwood Kinsmen carried the banner proudly as the parade moved along, led by the Botwood Fire Truck. Along with the Kinsmen, the Boys and Girls Club and the Point of Bay/Philip’s Head Fire Department joined as first time walkers.

The Antigonish’s Kinsmen Bike, Run and Walk for Breakfast drew about 60 young and old to clamber over the closest thing Antigonish County has to a mountain, known as the Keppoch, on foot and on bicycle. Volunteers barbecued for the event that raised money that the Kinsmen will donate to school breakfast programs.

Kinsmen Ray Eady Selected as Community Hero

A local man known for his volunteering in the community has been chosen to represent Eastern Ontario and Northern Ontario as Allstate's Community Hero. Ray Eady was recognized for the work he does in the community by volunteering and being involved with different service clubs in Cornwall and area and will represent the region in the insurance company's national Community Hero Program.

Kinsmen Build Fence For Girl with Autism

Trudy Brown’s daughter has autism and like many youth with autism, she has a tendency to run off. There’s a road close to them and large dogs in neighbours' yards. Brown’s worries were taken away Saturday as a group of Kinsmen volunteered their time to build a fence with money that was donated by President’s Choice to Brown’s family.
